The Actor as Visual Storyteller w/ Welker White

Authentic Moment-to-Moment Storytelling On Screen w/ WELKER WHITE

ABOUT THE WORKSHOP:

So often actors receive notes like:  “throw it away”, “stop working so hard” or (the dreaded) “do less”. It can cause us to go flat, disconnect, and feel unmoored.

In this TWO DAY WORKSHOP, actors will learn how stories written for film and television are constructed, and what a given scene – as written on the page – is revealing. It’s only then that the actor is able to release into the circumstances of the story: Not to do “less”, but rather to allow for greater specificity, ease, and present-moment veracity in front of a camera.

These practical tools are applicable for self-tapes, in-person auditions, rehearsals and on-set performance.

Actors will bring in material of their choosing to work on, or pick from material provided by Welker prior to the start of the workshop.
